WHY I BUILT THIS
In May 2025, I went back to my high school reunion. Over 100 classmates, all of us approaching 60. Every conversation ended up in the same place.
Aging parents. Recent losses. The scrambling to find documents, accounts, passwords, wishes — things nobody had ever written down. One friend called it a scavenger hunt. Everyone nodded.
And then the harder conversation.
Some of the people we graduated with were already gone. Accidents. Illness. Gone before anyone expected it. We stood there — sixty years old, or close to it — and for the first time in most of our lives, we talked honestly about our own mortality. About what we wanted to leave behind. About the people we talked honestly about our own mortality. About what we wanted to leave behind. About the people we would leave behind.
I drove home quieter than I arrived.
I started searching for something I could send everyone. Surely something existed — a system, a kit, something that was both organized AND human. Something that felt like love, not paperwork.
Something that would still be there for your family — coaching them, guiding them — on the worst day of their lives.
I found systems that were overwhelming. Estate planners that felt like homework. One beautiful box that came close — but it had an empty drawer and was really designed to sell life insurance.
Nothing had both. The practical AND the personal. The system AND the heart.
So I built it.
The Clear After Box is what I wish every family had before they needed it. It is not a binder. It is not a legal kit. It is a care package — for the person preparing it and for the family who opens it when the time comes.
Something with heart. Something that works. Something that feels like love made practical.
